                    Service - Computers for Youth - February 25, 2012

                    CFY, or Computers For Youth, is a non-profit organization that not only gives free computers to families but also teaches them how to use computers as well. As a volunteer, you will help train family members on how to start-up and use the computer. We also will be instructing the families on how to use educational games to help further student learning.

                    Service - Playground Restoration Project - March 3, 2012

                    Our grant has been approved and we are set to go back to the domestic violence shelter and restore their playground.   The Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation gave us a grant to restore the jungle gym and see-saws at the shelter.   Join us on Saturday, March 3 when the restored equipment is installed.  We will also do some basic yard work to keep the gardena and playground clean.   This is CAYP's first grant and we are excited to continue this project.

                    K-Family – Mid Year North Conference – March 3, 2012

                    Every year there’s one conference in Southern California, and one in Northern California.  This year’s Northern California conference is in Riverside.  It’s a 1-day event with workshops; also several videos will be showed including a CAYP video! This event is great for anyone who is considering being part of the board next year and it's also a good way to make new friends and learn more about Kiwanis.                     Kiwanis International Convention - June 28-July 1 - New Orleans, LA

                    In New Orleans, jazz fills the streets, mingling with the aroma of hot beignets. Pralines stick in your teeth as you watch the riverboats paddle by. It’s sensory overload in this little corner of the American South that’s big on European flavor. It’s a place like no other. It’s New Orleans. And you’re different here.

                    This is a special convention year. Kiwanis, Circle K, Aktion Club andKey Club alumni and CKI alumni are all in New Orleans at the same time to recognize another great year of Kiwanis-family service. And we'll be doing service as well. CKI members will take part in the annual Large Scale Service Project and Kiwanis members will have several options for service during convention, including ones with other Kiwanis-family members. 

                    So come be a part of the big crowd that’s expected in New Orleans for convention! Experience the workshops, entertainment, business and celebration of 25 years of women in Kiwanis. Together, let’s recognize our successes and make plans for the future.
