K-Family - UCI Tennis Tournament - February 19, 2012
UCI Circle K will be hosting a "Tennis" Tournament for Magic Kingdom and Kiwanis family. It will be a great way to relax from midterms, hang out with the best division ever, and play your favorite, or not, game ever.
I know this is very last minute, but if you have time for even part of the time, feel free to come.
Since we are limited on time, the game that we will be a 6-person, doubles-style, rotation game called "Doo-dah" (Thank you UCI VPS Roland Moder for the idea)
Registration will be at 10 AM, there will be time for warm up, and team forming. Each round will be 5 minutes long and the amount of rounds will be depending on how many teams there are.
There will be a final round where the winner is selected and after, LUNCH WILL BE SERVED! :)
Registration costs will be $4 per player and $3 per spectator. Money will be for lunch and the rest of the money will be donated.

Service - Cupid's Cleanup - San Diego - February 12, 2012
Everyone knows that Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show your loved ones just how much you care about them. Why not do the same for the environment? Save the date for ILACSD's annual Cupid's Cleanup! Volunteers will help remove trash and recyclables from the sidewalks, beach, and park areas of Powerhouse Park. All volunteers must sign a waiver form. Please consider bringing your own reusable water bottle, gloves, and bucket to help cut down on waste generated from the event.

K-Family – Mid Year South Conference – February 11, 2012
Every year there’s one conference in Southern California, and one in Northern California. This year’s Southern California conference is in Riverside. It’s a 1-day event with workshops; also several videos will be showed including a CAYP video! This event is great for anyone who is considering being part of the board next year and it's also a good way to make new friends and learn more about Kiwanis. K-Family - UCLA Circle K Pillow Fight - January 14, 2012
On January 14th, the UCLA community will come together in support of one of UCLA's largest student-run charitable fundraisers: Pillow Fight 2012. On this day, the UCLA community will join in a massive pillow fight to fund raise to help children who have been abused or neglected. There will be music, student performances, and other forms of entertainment leading up to Pillow Fight 2012 at UCLA.

This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.
To eliminate MNT from the Earth by 2015, 129 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take $110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family.

Service - Sanitation Kits - December 3, 2011
Natalie Platon came up with a great service project, just in time for the holidays - making Sanitation Kits for the homeless! We'll be making these kits as a Division on December 3rd in Santa Monica.
It will be held at the Capital Souce Banks at 12424 Wilshire Blvd., #100, West Los Angeles.
We'll also have a DCM before and then a board meeting after. Come when you can and stay as long as you like!

K-Family/Social-Dodgeball Tournament with OCYP Kiwanis - November 12, 2011
Orange County Young Professional of the Costa Mesa Kiwanis Club is hosting a dodge ball tournament on November 12th, 2011 at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Costa Mesa to raise canned good donations for Thanksgiving. The dodge ball tournament will consist of teams of five in a single elimination bracket. Each match will have a maximum time limit of five minutes. We will be accepting 3-5 non-perishable can food donations from tournament participants as registration. Any donation from the general public are welcomed as well. All collected proceeds and goods will be donated to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Costa Mesa which provides social services to many low income families in the Costa Mesa Area. Dues paid Circle K’ers in the Magic Kingdom are invited to attend as guests of our Kiwanis club. If you are unable to attend, feel free to send a check instead of bringing canned food. Checks may be made payable to Costa Mesa Kiwanis and sent to the address below.

Service - Step Up Tutoring Program - Children's Institute - Oct 17 - Nov 19, 2011
Superstart is a 6 week long program for children in 1st-2nd grade and are behind on their basic skills. The program works to reinforce those skills in math, reading and arithmetic so that children can be more on level with their peers. Most of the children in the program come from low-income families where English is not the primary language and therefore have fewer resources than their peers. The key to this program is the volunteer! A volunteer will be paired with 1 or 2 children so that the children can receive specialized attention that they won't find in a regular classroom setting. If you like working with children and engaging them with learning with traditional and non traditional tools -- this is the place for you!

Kiwanis Family - Circle K Crazy Competition - October 15, 2011
Join other members from all over our amazing California-Nevada-Hawaii district at this year’s CKI North and South! Crazy Kompetition for Infants (or CKI for short) is an annual event that raises money for Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) through an Olympic style series of fun, competitive mini-games and relays. As the first District Event of the school year, it’s right around the corner!

2011 Fall Banquet - October 8, 2011
Join CAYP as we celebrate our Fall Banquet. Celebrate the club's success from the past year, meet new friends, hang with old friends, eat great food, see the new board, and do a service project. It'll be a memorable evening and a great way to start the new Kiwanis year.

Service - Local Women and Kids Shelter -September 10, 2011
Join us at a local women and kids shelter as we plant shrubs and do some basic gardening to improve their facility. We will be there from 10am to about 4pm and we will provide lunch. Bring gloves and shovels if you have it.
